Curious George Has Inspired Me
Routine has a rather dull ring to it, does it not? Routine is so humdrum, so monotonous. Most people start their day with coffee and a shower but I have the coolest morning routine ever. I wake up cranky like most people and stumble to the kitchen for my caffeine fix. Soon after I hear my toddler's shout indicating he's awake and then the fun begins.
Curious George: PBS KidsFirst up, a diaper change/wrestling match followed immediately after with a bowl of animal crackers and a sippy cup of milk. Then JMan and I make our way to the living room to watch an episode of Curious George on PBS Kids. What a joy. The show is so simple and it's lessons are so big.
So, We Joined the YMCA
I’ve been very excited by the prospect of joining the YMCA and Jamie’s new job allows us a few luxuries in the budget so we decided to go for it. As the mother of two small kiddos I’m determined to be able to run around a yard with them without passing out from exhaustion. Thus, exercise is required. That’s great motivation for joining the Y but I’ll confess it is not my primary incentive.
I’ve been overweight (read FAT) for about 13 years now. Yeah, most people don’t realize I used to have a waist including my husband. Still, I’m terrible with motivation. I can’t get started. I won’t get started. I’m procrastinating. I’m lazy. Whatever. I am however not claiming a thyroid problem or that I’m big boned. I did it. I have to undo it.
Who Needs Discipline, Son or Mom?
Our Little AngelRecently our toddler has begun to “test his boundaries” and test our patience and resolve while he’s at it. His favorite word has become “No” just as Baby Center predicted. “Not my angel,” I said when I read it a month ago. What-eh-vah! He’s killing me. He runs through the house with his index finger wagging in the air, as he repeats “No, no, no, no” to no one in particular.
Did You Follow Baby Borrowers on NBC?
I love, scratch that, am addicted to reality TV. I’ve never missed a season of Big Brother. I jumped on board during the second seasons of Amazing Race and Survivor. Every season I say I’m not going to waste my time. Then its, “Well, I’ll just watch the first show to see what the twist is.” I don’t make any false statements at that point, I simply watch. It must be an illness yet I DO have a line and NBC has crossed it with Baby Borrowers.
Ok, so, I know I’m late to this slumber party but honestly, when I heard of Baby Borrowers a few months ago I was sure it would be cancelled before it aired. The premise was just too terrible. Apparently it’s been aired and is in fact nearing its conclusion.
