What Is Procrastination and How Do You Overcome It?
ProcrastinationIs procrastination a euphemism for laziness? Or perhaps it indicates lack of commitment to a goal? Ooo, ooo, I know, it's an illness that we can't avoid.
I've been a procrastinator my whole life. Not about all things. Just about things I didn't want to do. Imagine that! It's time to kick the habit. I'm nearly 40. It's time to grow up. This is NOT a New Year's resolution. It's a life resolution.
So, I'm asking for some help. Share with me why you procrastinate and how you motivate yourself to conquer procrastination. Do the yucky stuff first? Make lists? Ask someone to hold you accountable? What works for you?

This one's tough for me too (hence I'm sitting here instead of being "productive"). I find that if I think about whatever it is I'm avoiding, I'll be able to think of reasons and excuses to not do it. To get things done, I try NOT to think about it, tell myself it needs doing, and get up and do it. (Sometimes my self talks back and says it doesn't really NEED doing and then I'm in trouble. Hence I'm sitting here...) Ok ok! The guilt factor has kicked in - I'll get back to doing the laundry.
