Movie Review - Because I Said So

I love romantic comedies. I’m a “fluff” movie kind of gal. I don’t care that they are all predictable. It’s not much of a romance without a happy ending now is it? Some of my personal favorites are You’ve Got Mail, While You Were Sleeping, and Bridget Jones Diary. Luv them!!!!

So, anyhoo, I’ve just spent an hour of my life watching Because I Said So. I’m a Diane Keaton fan. I really am. It could be that my toddler has taken to screaming for his every desire and that today was an especially bad day but I sincerely hope I never hear Diane Keaton’s voice again. EVER! Was she in every scene? It felt like she was in every scene and she wined loudly from start to finish. The movie has been off for 15 minutes and I still hear her like fingernails on a chalkboard. Ugh!

I get it. She was supposed to be an overbearing controlling mother but someone needs to explain to the writers that you can really take a character too far. Needless to say I hated that movie. I will not finish it. I could not care less if Mandy Moore picks the rich jerk or the poor nice guy (duh). I’m even considering rushing the movie back to the library this very minute (10 pm at night) in hopes of casting out the voice from my brain! Out! Out, damned DK!
